Scattered around the workshop lie different types of papers: a piece of sky, the silhouette of seven characters who walked along the pier of a 1900 newspaper, a snippet of Chinese calligraphy, a well-traveled envelope with blue and red striped edges...
They rest passively, but close to where I work with other pieces, like the Playgrounds, where other papers, their distant cousins, end up.
Sometimes, during a break, when I see them out of the corner of my eye, they ask me for a scene and a role in the play. A silent yet urgent appeal, with few elements needed to set the scene and tell the story. These are the Found Papers that transform into minimal collages, small-format works that aspire to convey universal emotions.
