XII Biennal d'Art Riudebitlles

Inauguration: 16th november at 13h.

On November 16, the XII Riudebitlles-Capellades Art Biennial, "Work on Paper," will be inaugurated. It is organized by the Sant Pere de Riudebitlles Town Council, the Riudebitlles Territori d'Art collective, and the Capellades Paper Mill Museum.

The event will take place at 1 p.m. at the Mirador of the Capellades Paper Mill Museum.

Given the papermaking tradition of these towns, the uniqueness of the Biennial lies in the prominence given to works created with paper, where this material is not only a support but also has an active presence in the artwork and in the creative process itself.

This Biennial is a well-established event, as demonstrated by its eleven previous editions and the quality of the selected works. The Art Biennial aims to promote art on paper, bring contemporary artistic creation closer to the public, and highlight the papermaking towns of Sant Pere de Riudebitlles and Capellades.

In the 2024 Biennial, 170 works were submitted, of which 34 have been selected. The jury awarded the first prize to the work "Cytoscape" by artist Jo Milne, an artist with a significant career.
Two runner-up prizes have also been awarded:
- "Les retours incertains" by Cécile Hug, valued at €800, will become the property of the company Filtres Anoia.
- "Vers de les herbes d’or" by Carmen Dengra, valued at €600, will become the property of Joan Romeu, S.L.
